NAGUALISM Volume I and II

The 1st and 2nd volumes of Nagualism (of 20 intended) have been prepared within the framework of a non-profit-making international project on research and dissemination of knowledge of the shamans of ancient Mexico. 

These volumes are the basic extended comparative trilingual editions of Carlos Castaneda’s first and second doctoral theses published in 1968 & 1971 in the format of a book and entitled "The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge" and "A Separate Reality: Further Conversations with Don Juan", respectively. The publications are supplemented with a most comprehensive collection of materials related to "The Teachings" & "A Separate Reality". Selection of texts was based on the principle of their helpfulness for understanding both the respective Castaneda’s work itself and the circumstances of its writing and publication. 

The volumes also contain authentic photographs taken by Carlos Castaneda during his trips to Sonora and photographs of Yaqui masks collected by Carlos Castaneda in those trips.
